Albarran Family

Palm Sunday.

In the Christian faith, Palm Sunday represents Jesus' journey into Jerusalem during what we also call, Holy Week, which is the week leading up to Christ's death and then of course, His holy resurrection.

I met with the lovely Albarran family on Palm Sunday. It was about 2 hours before sundown, and Hailey was as bright as sun!  Running about with joy on her face and a song in her heart.  I thought to myself, "Wow. This  must have been the same joy the crowd felt as Jesus rode past them on a donkey."  Hailey's sweet spirit was captivating and contagious.  After only 3 days of missing my sister (who shipped off to Marine's Basic), it was just what I needed.  My heart was heavy that day, but the Albarran's undying love for each other reminded me of the love I have for my sister.  Yvonne, asked how she was doing, and instantly the pain hit a nerve. And as the tears began to fall, peace reigned. It was then I realized that I hadn't yet given myself the chance to feel that my sister was no longer a phone call away, but it also gave me the chance to remember where she was, and what she would soon become, a United States Marine.

Thank you, Albarran Family, for blessing me with this day!

A New Chapter Begins!

Meet Kathy!  A soon to be UHD graduate!  I couldn't be more excited for her!

Kathy and I met like a lot of my other close friends, through my husband, but this time Kathy is apart of the family!

I've had the pleasure of watching Kathy's life blossom, and now I will have the pleasure of watching her move into this new and very exciting chapter in her life! Kathy is a hard worker, and with lots of patience, dedication, and the good Lord, she is days away from walking across that stage and into a new beginning!

Congrats, KATHY!
We love you!

Where the heart is.

Ahhh, I love my clients!  I really do.  I love you when I take your pictures, and love you even more as individuals... As far as I can think, I don't recall any client of mine not eventually becoming a friend. If we didn't exchange life stories during our consultation, more than likely, we'll do it during your session.  I LOVE this!  It helps me capture who you truly are... who God made you to be.

Sunday, for instance, I met with a family; a gorgeous one at that.  Immediately, the chemistry was there, and all I could think was... gosh, I really love my job, and its times like these where all the sleepless nights editing, the raging overwhelming creativity, tax paying (haha), and so on and so forth... are what make it all worth it.  Honestly, during their session, I think we spent more time in our conversation than in "portrait" mode.  Loved every second of it!

So a HUGE thank you to all of my lovely clients; past, present, and future!  I love being apart of your lives, even if its just for an hour or so.  I can't describe how much of a blessing it is for me.  I feel honored and so very very privileged.  With every session, I not only come away with inspiration for my craft, but I also come away with inspiration for my life.  Each and every one of you have impacted my life in some way or another. Yes, believe it or not, and I promise I'm not just saying this to butter you up, but really, I learn something new about life and all that it has to offer, and because of this, I am so grateful and so humbled.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

And a sneak peek from Sunday night's session!

More from the Albarran Family, soon!

Two times'a charm.

Meet Connie.  Its funny how we met, and I won't get too too much into that cause, well, we'd be here forever.  I will however, get into what an amazing person she is.

Connie and I met in 2009.  We shared our laughs, tears, and worries over, yes, the internet via email.  We immediately connected, and she immediately helped me connect my heart to Jesus.  I can tell you for a fact, God used this woman as His vessel, and He used her to help me find Him again.

You see, I grew up knowing of Jesus. I knew He died on a cross, and I knew Easter was really and truly about Him, but nothing was practiced personally, and His name very very rarely graced my lips.

It wasn't until I met Connie, that I came to know Jesus on a deeper, more personal level.  And it was in the first year of my and Connie's friendship that I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior... and this time, I was fo-real.  There was no turning back.  I had laid down every burden at the foot of the cross, and said, "Jesus, you handle this, because I can't anymore... at least not on my own."

And the rest is history.

Connie is everything you could every want in a friend.  She's an ah-mazing mother, friend, wife, daughter, sister, co-worker, and she's an even more ah-mazing woman of faith; a true woman of God.

Connie, my sista from anotha 'mista!  (I kid you not, her and I are always rowing in the same boat, and if not, we're closely following one or the other)

I'm so happy and overjoyed that I have witnessed her grow from a family of 2, to now, a family of 4.  My my my, what a journey she has been on, and I am absolutely ecstatic to see what the Lord has in store for her and her beautiful family.

Thank you, Connie for being... well, you. I love you bunches!

And lastly, a HUGE Congrats to the Gomez Family on Camila's arrival!
Stay tuned for tiny baby pics, soon!

Say hello to Connie, Santiago, and baby Camila.

Gone are the sandbox ages...

Its just dawned on me that my baby girl will soon be heading off to school.  I kid you not, and I know this is sooo cliche to say, but everyday I look at her, and I still can't believe how fast she has grown, and how even faster, she is growing.  Along with growing an inch a day (or so it seems), she teaches me something new each day, and she never ceases to amaze me.  The things the come out of her mouth, I tell you... ahh kids say the darndest things, and its so true! I can't help but laugh!  She's learning and growing so so much, and before she learns and grows with the rest of the world, I want to soak it all in, and really be apart of her everyday everything.

In the months of June, July, and August (of this year), I will be scheduling a minimal amount of sessions, so I ask that if you are interested in a session, please book in advance in order to guarantee your available session date and time. Right now, I am currently booking for June, and am almost completely booked for May.
