The Simpson's | A breath of fresh air.

I took these pictures back at the first of the year, and since then, DreamTree has been going through yet another transition.  If you've followed me for the past year, you know DreamTree (me) goes through transitions like a new pair of panties. haha  I love it though, and I love the thought of where the Lord might take me next.

Its been a roller coaster, I tell ya, but of course, I wouldn't have it any other way.  I'm excited about the past, present, and future of DreamTree.

For a while, I was kinda stuck in a rut.  My camera rarely came out of my bag, and my creative window was super glued shut.  I took a mini-break during the holidays to try and "find myself" again.  Right before my "return", I met the Simpson's.

The Simpson's were introduced to me by a couple which I photographed late last year, and they actually work together, and know each other quite well.  We scheduled the Simpon's session for January 7, 2011, the anniversary of my grandmother's passing.  And when the day, finally came, I knew exactly why it was a perfect match.

They were the breath of fresh air I was longing.

The day my grandmother passed, I was sad and so very heartbroken, but I rejoiced because I knew she no  longer was in pain.  After her passing, was the first time I had officially opened my heart to the Lord, and invited Him in, and I know this wasn't without her help.

Kade, the blue-eyed handsome angel you're about to meet, was the sweet remedy of a long hard past couple of months.  It took him a while to warm up to me and my camera, but by the time the session was complete, we walked hand in hand back to the parking lot.

And off they went.

On the journey back home, I tearfully thanked God for such a beautiful session.

...For that breath of fresh of air.
For reminding me why I ever picked up a camera in the first place.

To the Simpson's, you are blessed beyond measure!  Thank you for allowing me to capture your blessings on camera. I will forever treasure your session!  From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your sweet soul, spirit, and smiles.

ps. Black and white edits are rare for me. I really have to feel they deserve the innocence of capturing the soul of the image, rather than beautiful smiling faces. It goes much deeper than color, and much deeper than a simple smile.  But instead, it goes straight to the heart. With that being said, yes, I edited these in color, but I enjoyed the black and whites far more.  Hope you feel the same.

And where's the happiness without just a hint of color?

Love and dreams,
Casey
